Storm Alert - Hurricane Milton

The current hurricane off the coast of Florida is expected to bring strong winds, heavy rainfall, and potential flooding in various areas.
Milton’s expected time of landfall has been moved up due to a southward shift in its track.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm could make landfall as soon as 11 p.m., or within the next 12 hours, likely near or just south of Sarasota.
This adjustment is significant. Since this morning, Milton’s landfall point has shifted 10 miles further south, and 16 miles south since Tuesday morning. This means the hurricane has a shorter stretch of the Gulf of Mexico to cross before hitting land, resulting in the revised earlier time.
The updated landfall estimate leaves little time for Milton to lose strength. With just 12 hours remaining over water, it is likely to reach the coast as a major hurricane, maintaining Category 3 or 4 intensity tonight.

🚨Truck drivers operating in the region should be aware of the following: Never attempt to drive through flooded areas, even if the water seems shallow. Flash floods can occur suddenly and can sweep away even the largest vehicles. If you encounter dangerous conditions, pull over to a safe location and wait until it is safe to continue.
