What you'll do
Keep us road-legal and audit-ready. Own DOT compliance, driver files and the standards that protect our operating authority.
Review company records, driver documentation, to verify compliance with applicable transportation regulations and company policies.
Evaluate applications, records, or other documents to gather information related to regulatory eligibility or liability issues
Advise management and company personnel regarding regulatory compliance obligations, and transportation laws
Review and draft transportation-related contracts and compliance documentation
Prepare reports summarizing compliance activities, evaluations, findings, and recommendations
Communicate with government agencies regarding licensing, permits, regulatory filings, and other compliance matters affecting company operations
Maintain records related to regulatory filings and compliance documentation
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and operational requirements
Coordinate with external legal counsel regarding legal risk management and regulatory matters
Perform legal research on issues related to transportation law, including carrier liability and employment matters in the trucking sector
Monitor legal and regulatory developments related to the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and other applicable transportation laws and regulations
What we're looking for
Credentials Needed: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Law or a related field
Strong organization and audit readiness
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
